# Prompt 6 — Summarize a Report Page in Prose

## Crystallize

Smart Narrative has no Crystallize prompt in the conversational sense. The Crystallize work is:

- **The decision to place a Smart Narrative on the page** and bind it to the visuals there.
- **The BRD-authored one-sentence takeaway** — the sentence you already know the page needs to communicate. This is the Crystallize move most often skipped. Without a BRD takeaway written down *before* the visual generates, there is nothing to align the paragraph against.

## Scope

No conversation in this surface. The stand-in: write the BRD takeaway on a note before opening the visual. In the Asha case: *"Q3 identity-ticket volume escalated 4x versus baseline because SSO/federation rollout hit day-7 SLA."* That sentence is the oracle the paragraph will be checked against.

## Assemble

Smart Narrative returns a smoothly-written paragraph describing the visuals on the page. In the Asha case: the paragraph names Q3 volume increasing across all product lines, largest gains in Collaboration and Analytics, attributed to seasonality and new-customer onboarding. **Every sentence is factually accurate.**

## Refine (per-visual move)

- **Ch 10 BRD-takeaway alignment** (the per-visual move for Smart Narrative): Read the paragraph aside from the visuals, then next to the BRD takeaway. If the two read as the same headline, ship. If they read as different headlines — in the Asha case, the narrative names a volume-and-seasonality story while the BRD asks for an escalation-and-root-cause story — the paragraph is drifting even though every sentence is true.
- **Ch 9 (wrong-narrative failure mode)**: The drift is the *foregrounded headline* — the paragraph does not need factual correction, it needs its point of emphasis rewritten.

## Ship decision

Do not ship a drifting Smart Narrative paragraph as-is. Delete it and replace with a hand-authored one-sentence takeaway that names the specific claim your BRD asks for. In the Asha case: rewrite to name the escalation multiplier (4x), the root cause (SSO/federation rollout), and the operational lever (day-7 SLA breach point). Rewriting takes about the same time as editing the AI paragraph and produces a headline that survives the BRD-alignment check by construction.

**When to use this prompt**: You want a prose summary of a report page. Smart Narrative is the visual most often shipped by default and most often the visual that drifts, because the drift reads correct. The BRD-alignment check is what distinguishes the discipline from accepting a smoothly-written paragraph that names the wrong headline.
